Sam, Practice Manager, RVN, Veterinary Nurse (Small Animal)
Sam joined Calweton in October 2014 as a receptionist and has since progressed through several roles since qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse. She enjoys supporting both our team and clients to ensure our practices run smoothly. Outside of work, you can find her spending time with family and friends, enjoying good food and drink, and being by the sea. Sam has rescued two animals whilst working at Calweton – her dog, Coral and her cat, Maggie.
Caroline, Practice Manager (Small Animal)
Caroline relocated to Cornwall from the South East in 2021 with her husband and two children. She has worked within the veterinary industry for many years, having qualified as an registered veterinary nurse in 1999.
Before becoming Practice Manager, Caroline headed our reception team. In her spare time, Caroline is kept busy by spending time with family, accompanied by her two labradors, a small flock of chickens, and her cat who rules the roost.
Anna, BVM BVS MRCVS, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Anna graduated in 2017 and started at Calweton almost immediately after.
Anna enjoys all aspects of clinical work, but has a particularly keen interest in ultrasound scanning, supported by her postgraduate certificate in Diagnostic Imaging. In her spare time, Anna enjoys walking her dog, sailing and horse riding.
Matilde, MRCVS, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Matilde graduated from the University of Milan in 2022, and has since combined her love for animals with her passion for travel. Before her move to Cornwall in 2024, Matilde has worked with pets and exotics across Italy, volunteered in reserves in South Africa and in wildlife rescue centres in Costa Rica. She has a keen interest in exotic species, and is currently studying towards a postgraduate certificate in the field. In her spare time, Matilde is always on the lookout for her next adventure… or a good slice of pizza.
Thivya, BVMSci MRCVS, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Thivya graduated from the University of Surrey in 2025, and joined Calweton shortly after. She enjoys all aspects of the job but finds surgery particularly interesting. Outside of work, you can find Thivya exploring Dartmoor or hiking the South West Coast Path.
Hayley, RVN, Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse
Hayley has been part of our Calweton team for over 20 years. She particularly enjoys monitoring anaesthesia and nurse consultations. Outside of work, Hayley enjoys paddleboarding and spending time in her allotment. She has a naughty rescue cat named Diego who was brought into Calweton as a stray kitten.
Hannah, RVN, Veterinary Nurse
In addition to being a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Hannah is a member of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association and runs Pengelly Hydrotherapy at our Callington Branch.
Natalie, SVN, Student Veterinary Nurse
After joining our reception team in late 2020, Natalie has progressed to become a student veterinary nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and taking care of her four cats.
Danielle, RVN, Veterinary Nurse & Branch Lead
Danielle qualified as a registered nurse in 2018, and joined our Calweton team in 2020 after relocating to Cornwall. She has since gained her Advanced Program of Veterinary Nursing qualification (small mammal) in 2025, and oversees operations in our Saltash Branch. Danielle fosters a keen interest in all small furries, but especially rabbits!
Aston, SVN, Student Veterinary Nurse
Since joining the Calweton team in March 2026, Aston has quickly progressed to become a student veterinary nurse. Her particular interests lie in anaesthesia, IVDD cases, and inpatient care. Aston has a deep passion for promoting animal welfare, and she enjoys building lasting relationships with our patients and their owners.
Polly, RVN, Veterinary Nurse
Jane, Accounts Manager
Jane joined the Calweton team in 2012 as Accounts Manager. She oversees the financial operations between our small animal and farm departments, and prides herself in her friendly approach to client relations.
She has a dog named Oscar, and a cat named Ouzo, along with a small flock of chickens.
Outside of work, Jane enjoys ‘happy hacker’ horse riding, dog walking and spending time with family.
Elaine, Receptionist
Elaine has been part of the Calweton team since 2019, and enjoys seeing all the lovely pets and animals come through our doors. Outside of work, she likes sunny walks and spending time with family.
Freya, Receptionist
Freya joined the Calweton team in 2024. Not long after, she rescued little ‘Mulch’ the kitten who was brought into our Callington practice after being found in a compost bin! Staying true to his roots, Mulch loves to accompany Freya whilst out in the garden, taking his role in quality control very seriously. Besides gardening, Freya spends much of her free time snorkelling the SW coast, taking a sauna with friends, and making ceramics in her studio.
Kim, Receptionist/
PHP Administrator
Since joining the team in 2024, Kim leads the administration of our Calweton Pet Health Plan. She is passionate about fostering a client-focused approach to ensure our clients and their pets receive the high standard of service and care they deserve. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, watching wildlife, and taking care of her lovely moggie, Monty.
Laura, Receptionist
Nicky, Receptionist
Nicky joined the Calweton team in 2025, and is a huge animal lover with a particular soft spot for dachshunds and ponies! She enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it’s about the countryside or being around animals whenever she can. Having always been a huge part of Nicky’s life, and she loves the joy and companionship animals bring to her everyday life. Outside of work, you’ll usually find Nicky spending time with family and friends, making the most of life’s simple pleasures, and of course… admiring every dachshund she meets!
Charlotte, Receptionist/Insurance Administrator
Charlotte joined Calweton in January 2025, starting as a receptionist before progressing into her current role as insurance administrator. One of her favourite parts of the job is getting to meet a variety of pets and their owners every day. No two days are ever the same, and that’s exactly what she loves about the role.
When Charlotte’s not working, you’ll usually find her hopping on a train to London, at a concert, or baking something sweet. She have two fox red Labradors who specialise in causing mischief in the best possible ways, and you’ll often catch her talking about the silly things they get up to.
Sarah, Receptionist
Sarah has been part of the Calweton team since April 2026. From receiving the first phone call to building lasting bonds with clients and their lovely pets, Sarah’s favourite part of my job is getting to know all the wonderful animals and their characters, and being able to support clients in

I’m the very lucky owner of two amazing handsome dogs called Duke & Freddie, one is a Golden Retriever and the other is a Kooikerhondje, Freddie can be alittle antisocial at times and Duke loves everyone and everything.
