Sam, Practice Manager, RVN, Veterinary Nurse
I joined Calweton in October 2014 as a receptionist and have since progressed through several roles, qualifying as a veterinary nurse, becoming joint head nurse and now have the privilege of being Practice Manager. I enjoy supporting both our team and clients to ensure the practice runs smoothly. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, enjoying good food and drink , and being by the sea. I have rescued two animals whilst working at Calweton, Coral my dog & Maggie my cat.
Anna, BVM BVS MRCVS, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Gaduated from Nottingham University in 2017 and started at Calweton straight after!
Love everything but especially enjoys ultrasound scanning and have a postgraduate certificate in Diagnostic Imaging! But equally love surgery.
Matilde, MRCVS, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Matilde graduated from the University of Milan in 2022, and has since combined her love for animals with her passion for travel. She has volunteered in a South African wildlife reserve, worked with small animals and exotic pets in Italy, and then in a wildlife rescue centre in Costa Rica before moving to Cornwall in 2024. Her main interests are exotic animals, and she is currently studying for a certificate in the field. She is always on the lookout for her next adventure… or a good slice of pizza.
Thivya, BVMSci MRCVS, Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated from the University of Surrey in 2025 and joined Calweton in September 2025 as a new graduate. I like getting involved in all aspects of the job but find surgery particularly interesting. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring Cornwall and going on hikes up Dartmoor and the SW Coast Path.
Hannah, RVN, Veterinary Nurse
In addition to being a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Hannah is a member of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association and runs the hydrotherapy service at our Pengelly site.
Natalie, Student Veterinary Nurse
Natalie joined the Calweton reception team in late 2020 and has now progressed to become a student veterinary nurse. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and taking care of her four cats.
Caroline, Head Receptionist
I relocated to Cornwall from the South East in 2021 with my husband and two children.
I have worked within the veterinary industry for many years, having qualified as an RVN in 1999.
I now head our reception team here at Calweton. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, our two labradors, and my cat who rules the household and a small flock of chickens.
Jane, Accounts Manager
Jane joined us in 2012 and has never looked back! If you see her around the practice, she might be accompanied by her dog, Oscar.
Elaine, Receptionist
Elaine has been part of the Calweton team since 2019, and loves to see all the lovely pets and animals coming through our doors. When she’s not working, she likes going on sunny walks and spending time with her family.
Kim, Receptionist/PHP Administrator
Joined Calweton in March 2024. I have a cat called Monty. No previous experience in the veterinary sector; my background is primarily in customer service.
My focus is on the clients and ensuring that they and their pets receive a high standard of service and care. My work with the pet health plan gives me the opportunity to do this and meeting our lovely clients and their gorgeous pets is what motivates me. Outside of work I enjoy gardening and watching wildlife.
Nicky, Receptionist
I’m a huge animal lover with a particular soft spot for Dachshunds and ponies. I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s enjoying the countryside or being around animals whenever I can. My passion for animals has always been a big part of who i am, and i love the joy and companionship they bring to everyday life. When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, making the most of life’s simple pleasures, and of course admiring every dachshund I meet!
Charlotte, Receptionist/Insurance Administrator
I joined Calweton in January 2025, starting as a receptionist before stepping into my current role as Insurance Administrator, alongside my receptionist duties. One of my favourite parts of working at Calweton is getting to meet such a variety of pets and their owners every day. No two days are ever the same, and that’s exactly what I love about it.
When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me hopping on a train to London, at a concert, or baking something sweet. I have two fox red Labradors who specialise in causing mischief in the best possible ways, you’ll often catch me talking about the silly things they get up to.
Sarah, Receptionist
I’m Sarah-Jane Barber, Ive worked for Calweton Vets since April 2026, I’m the very lucky owner of two amazing handsome dogs called Duke & Freddie, one is a Golden Retriever and the other is a Kooikerhondje, Freddie can be alittle antisocial at times and Duke loves everyone and everything. Im very interested in the whole process at the veterinary practice, from receiving the first phone call to building bonds with clients and their lovely pets. My favourite part of my job is seeing all the wonderful animals and getting to know their characters and helping them in their hour of need. My hobbies outside of work at dog photography and walks of Dartmoor.
