Meet the Team - Small Animal Vets


Jenny qualified from London’s Royal Veterinary College in 2009 and joined the practice in 2013. A key member of the small animal team, we are delighted to have her back following her maternity leave.


South African-born Uke (‘Ee-ka’) came to the UK to study at Bristol University’s Vet School, qualifying in 2015 and joining the practice shortly afterwards. One of our small animal vets, outside work she is a keen traveller and enjoys adventure sports such as rock climbing and cycling.


Anna joined our small animal team in 2017, having qualified from the University of Nottingham. She is a keen horse rider and also enjoys playing badminton. She is looking forward to improving her surfing and learning to sail. She has a dog Tilly with whom she enjoys the challenge of attempting agility competitions!


Owen joined the small animal team at Calweton after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2018. In his spare time he enjoys cooking and kayaking. He is looking forward to spending more time exploring the Cornish coastline and countryside.

Rebekah (Bex)

Bex joined the team in 2018 having qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London and works in both our farm and small animal departments. In her spare time she enjoys all things outdoors, especially canoeing, and has played football whilst at university. Originally from Norfolk, she enjoys exploring the coastal paths and hills that Cornwall has to offer!


Rory graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2018 and is looking forward to getting stuck into both farm and small animal practice! Originally from Yorkshire, he is is excited at the prospect of exploring Cornwall's  surfing beaches, and will definitely be sticking the surfboard in the van for post work trips to the beach. He also hopes to be running, climbing and mountain biking when there's no waves to be had! 


Matt graduated from Liverpol University in 2007. He has always worked in the South West and came to us in 2018, two days a week. He specialised in small animal work early in his career and enjoys being a general practioner. He has a particular interest in behaviour and dealing with our more fearful and nervous patients. In his spare time he enjoys chasing after his young son and getting out on the water kitesurfing when the wind allows.


Jake qualified from Nottingham University in 2018. He joined our small animal team in 2019 following an internship role in a Wiltshire practice.  Outside work he enjoys surfing and is a dab hand in the kitchen.

Small Animal Administration


Jane joined the practice in 2012 and will be a familiar face and voice to our clients with pets.   Our senior administrator, she manages the small animal office and reception.
