COVID - Update 11/02/2021

Article Status:
Current

In line with current Government guidelines as to the control of coronavirus, we are continuing to adapt our working practices.
For patients of all species we continue to request that clients do not enter the building unless this is unavoidable.

FARM

Work for production animals continues as normal.  Emergency cover will always take priority.
Visits should take place in well-ventilated areas / outside and animals should be restrained to allow a 2 metre (cow length) distance between vet and farm staff.
For up to date information regarding TB testing, the TB Hub website is an excellent resource and can be accessed here.

PETS

Covid 19 – Update  February 2021

Caring for your family pets is our priority and with the ongoing lockdown situation we are continuing to work hard to provide as much of a comprehensive service as we possibly can during these difficult times.

We can only do this with the enormous efforts from our staff and for your continued understanding, thank you.

You will already be familiar now with the "new Covid regime" of conducting limited consults and limiting access to all of our branches for those pets who are deemed to be an emergency or have a medical critical need to be seen. We are also offering telephone consultations as well. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this.

Repeat Medication and Food requests ( Drugs / Flea / Worm / Food etc)

Could we now ask you to give us 48 hours’ notice of your requirements. This will ensure that we can obtain your order from our wholesalers as necessary, who are also working under limited operating conditions themselves.

Private Prescriptions

These are now £25 per prescribed drug per medical condition and they will be valid for 3 months with the exception of Flea and Worming which will be valid for 6 months.

However, if more than one drug is required for one medical condition the charge will be £35. (Previously, the charge was £15 per drug, regardless of how many the condition required.)

Branches

Saltash  - We are pleased to announce that from Monday March 8th 2021 we will be re-opening our Saltash branch for consultations as before : Morning 9-10am consults and  Afternoon consults 4-5pm.

Looe branch has re-opened for appointments. Further information can be found on our Looe page.

Callington - we have adapted our working practises in order to continue to protect both our staff and our clients.

Ongoing consultation / appointment procedures

We are continuing to carry out telephone consultations, and are also carrying out consultations at the practice where deemed appropriate.
Telephone consultations are charged at our standard consultation fee and payable by telephone at the time of the telephone consult request.  If a physical examination is consequently deemed necessary there will be no further charge for this physical consultation and only medications / additional treatments prescribed at the consult will be charged.
If an examination is necessary your pet will be taken into the practice by the vet to be examined, with the aid of a trained nurse.
Findings and further diagnostic procedures or treatment requirements will be discussed with you as required.

We are now able to carry out puppy and kitten vaccinations and boosters on a case-by-case basis and our nurse will liaise with you to meet your pets innoculation requirements.

Prescriptions: if your pet is on medication for an ongoing condition we will endeavour to maintain this supply.  Please phone us for advice if needed.

EQUINE

We are now providing - as much as possible - a normal service.  We ask that social distancing measures are observed during visits.
A vaccination amnesty will be available for clients needing to restart vaccinations.

Many thanks to all our clients for your continued understanding in these exceptional times. Stay safe and well.
