Ram Fertility

Our sheep-enthusiast vet Miranda will be presenting at AHDB and RamCompare's event at Dupath Farm, Callington:

"Fertility of breeding stock and understanding how EBVs aid ram selection decisions – RamCompare with a Strategic Farm Focus"

This will be an afternoon/early evening event: full details are yet be finalised; keep an eye out for updates!

Event objectives include:

Gain an understanding of EBVs for ram selection decisions, using data/results from Dupath Farm and the RamCompare project
Ram fertility and quarantine – the importance of conducting annual ram MOTs to prepare for a successful breeding season whilst protecting flock biosecurity with new purchases
Ewe flock fertility – getting two-tooth ewes back into shape post-lambing
Efficient ewes = efficient system – a focus on ewe weight and body condition to inform future flock management decisions
